Located on the East side of the Puget Sound on Bainbridge Island, Captain Charles Wilkes Elementary was constructed on an existing occupied campus. The project was terraced into the hillside and consisted of exposed structural concrete walls, structural CMU, structural steel and heavy timber framing. Site improvements consisted of wetland impact mitigation, onsite septic and porous concrete parking and hardscapes.

Spee West’s projects range in size from $20,000 to $160,000,000. While our recent projects have been focused in the public works sector, we have a history of negotiated private work as well. We take great pride in each job we complete, knowing their impact will last for generations.
